TO WAIT ON GOD

One of the hardest things for me to do is wait on God. Mostly, if it seems to be taking forever. I know sometimes the Lord has you to wait to see if you are serious. Sometimes the waiting causes pain to reach to the depths of your soul. David, a man after God’s own heart surely felt this when he said this in Psalms 13:1-2. “How long, O Lord? Wilt Thou forget me forever? How Long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?”

In my heart, I know the Lord has not forgotten me, but my mind can think all sorts of things. Because of this, you must stay in the Word. You do not want those things in your head making it to your heart. You must let the Word fill your heart and let the word fill your mind. When left to ones own thoughts, some have become angry, or bitter, or have felt unworthy. While waiting, it is more important to ask God to put more love in your heart for Him daily. You want to ask the Lord to help you to accept His wisdom and find comfort in His loving hands.
