Cause Others To Stumble

Matthew 18:6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea, (NAS)

What a strong warning. Beloved, this warning is of a severe nature. The words “little ones” mean children, but could it also mean baby or child in one growth in faith. Our words and actions have influence. Also, one can cause a person to stumble by complete negligence. I have not always lifted another one up when maybe I could have made a difference. I do not remember who said this and I probably have not quoted it correctly but you will understand it. “Straighten another’s crown without her knowing it.” I think that is so beautiful.

Some will even cause others to sin by knowingly putting obstacles into a person’s path. I can only guess that they think they will look better in the eyes of men. Those who do these things, are they really a Christian?

Beloved ones of God, remain holy, and strive to please God. Let others see Christ in you.
